Limited access to food during the coronavirus has lead many Native American tribes to rely on historical practices like seed saving and canning.
H.R. 748, now known as the CARES Act, is the stimulus package designed to aid in the long-lasting affects of COVID-19. Tribal nationals, organizations and advocates developed priorities for Congress to include in the package.

In January, the bipartisan Congressional Native American Caucus established its leadership for the 116th Congress. Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) and Congresswoman Deb Haaland (D-NM) serve as Co-Chairs of the caucus. Following six years of distinguished service as Co-Chair, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) remains on the caucus as Co-Chair Emeritus.
